The city of Niagara Falls is looking at a financial loss of more than $200,000 due to COVID-19.
Council received a report yesterday afternoon showing $2.8 million in lost revenue and $300,000 in additional expenses related to the outbreak.
City staff predict expense savings of up to $2.9 million by taking several measures including delaying filling job vacancies and staff layoffs.
City staff warned that these numbers are only preliminary and don't include safety features that may be needed to protect staff and residents at public facilities.
