The Niagara Police Services Board is welcoming a provincial appointment.
David Eke from Niagara Falls was appointed to the board by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario for a three year term starting this month.
He's stepping into the position previously held by former board member Vaughn Stewart.
Eke has a long history as a politician having served as a Niagara-on-the-Lake alderman in 1991 and 1994 before being elected to regional council for two terms. In 2010 he was elected Lord Mayor of Niagara-On-The-Lake.
His community service background includes work with the Niagara-On-The-Lake Lions Club, Niagara Regional Housing, Niagara District Health Council, and the Niagara-On-The-Lake Library Board.
