A man from Niagara Falls has won $1M on the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Draw.
Peter Dixon was the lucky winner in the September 23rd draw.
"I've been a regular lottery player for over 15 years. This is my first big win," he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. "I was at the store checking my tickets and the lottery terminal shut down. I had no idea what was going on. When I noticed the prize amount, I was in complete disbelief!"
Dixon says when he told his son about the win, he didn't believe him at first. "He was so happy for me."
He plans to invest his win for retirement and maybe purchase a vehicle. "It's still so unbelievable. I don’t think I've fully accepted it yet."
LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.
The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.
