With single sports betting now legal across the U-S, the mayor of Niagara Falls, is calling on Ottawa to allow sports wagering in Canadian casinos.
Jim Diodati says the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling to allow sports betting in every state will likely have a negative effect on casinos across our country, especially in border cities like Niagara Falls.
Diodati says "it's important we stop the bleeding of money leaving our country" referring to the $14 billion a year offshore gambling industry.
The Mayor adds “We would like to see the government re-introduce single-sport betting in order to keep the jobs and revenue here in Canada."
