Niagara Falls officially entered phase 2 of the province's reopening plan this weekend and restaurant patios were once again open for business as were some attractions in the Clifton Hill and Niagara Parks Commission properties.
On Saturday, there was evidence the tourism industry is starting to rebound as there was increased activity in the city but numbers were still low compared to previous years.
Tourism Minister Lisa MacLeod spent the day in Niagara and says a new marketing campaign called "Safe to Play, Safe to Stay" is aimed at bringing people back to the area.
The Zipline attraction reopened yesterday and the crowds along the Parks Commission property were greeted by an increased number of Niagara Parks Police making sure physical distancing was being maintained.
There were also portable washrooms added at Queen Victoria Park to help deal with an influx of visitors.
