Reaction continues to pour in following the announcement that a U-S Gaming firm will take over Niagara's two casinos.
Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment beat out Caesars and Hard Rock to operate Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara starting next summer.
MGE will also take over an entertainment centre that is currently under construction.
Noel Buckley, head of Niagara Falls Tourism joined CKTB's Tim Denis on Niagara in the Morning today saying MGE is saying all the right things right now.
Buckley says it's encouraging the company recognizes that there is a great opportunity south of the border.
He says MGE is also preparing to compete with increased competition in the Toronto area.
Buckley says the big unknown is just how much the expansion at Woodbine Racetrack will impact visitors to Niagara.
MGE will become the second largest employer in Niagara when they take over the casinos in the summer of 2019 employing over 4100 people.
CEO of MGE, Mario Kontomerkos says they really want to expand and improve the area between the two casinos, calling it a corridor that can be improved with tourist attractions connecting the two properties.
He says Mohegan is a company that excels at bringing big "class a" talent to venues and that's what he wants to see happen here.
MGE is a company started back in 1996 in Connecticut.
It runs casinos in Atlantic City, Washington State, and South Korea.
