Farmers Market fans rejoice - local municipalities are preparing to reopen the popular spots.
Niagara Falls council approved a motion yesterday afternoon paving the way for the market to open in the parking lot of the MacBain Centre on June 6th.
The Niagara Falls Farmers Market is usually held at Main and Ferry, but the decision to move it was made to allow for more space between people.
St. Catharines officials also tweeting out the market will return on May 23rd from 8 a.m. until noon.
The St. Catharines announcement did not include where the market will open, but traditionally it is held at Market Square.
Both cities have repeatedly insisted on the need for greater physical distancing and safeguards at the markets to protect vendors and shoppers.
The province has said Farmers Markets are an essential service.
