Burke previously played for the OHL's Barrie Colts and joined the Ice Dogs prior to the 2009 - 2010 season as an assistant coach. He has helped coach two Eastern Conference Championship winning teams in 2011-2012 and 2015-2016
Last week, former head coach Dave Bell accepted an assistant coaching job with the Los Angeles Kings’ farm team, the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, for the upcoming hockey season.
