With garden centres re-opening for in person purchases today, this isn't what gardeners want to hear but Niagara is still looking at a chance for frost tonight.
An Environment Canada frost advisory remains in effect as we expect to dip down to a low of minus 2 tonight.
The Weather Network's Doug Gillham says we are in the midst of a sustained chilly period.
"These daytime temperatures are way below seasonal. We're talking 10 - 15 degrees colder than we should be for this time of year."
Gillham does offer a little hope: "We're not going to flip the switch just yet - this weekend feeling like March. Going into the long weekend it won't feel like summer but it certainly won't be as cold as this weekend. Temperatures closer to, but still on the cool side, of seasonal."
