Wages may be going up, but the number of people looking for work remains steady.
The wage growth hit its highest level in nearly six years last month as the national unemployment rate held steady at 5.8%.
Wages in April went up 3.6% compared to a year ago according to a Statistics Canada report.
In Niagara, the unemployment rate kept on track with the national average, but that is up .2% from the month before.
