Residents of Niagara-On-The-Lake could see their monthly hydro bills go up by around $1.29 if an application from Niagara-On-The-Lake-Hydro is approved.
The utility has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for a change to electricity distribution rates and for approval of a new charge to prepare for potential large business customers who have their own generation facilities.
As part of the process, the OEB will be holding a community meeting next Tuesday, October 9th to hear from customers.
It's happening in the Simpson Room of the Niagara-On-The-Lake Community Centre beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
OEB representatives say the requested changes relate to the distribution side of the business and does not reflect any credits or other changes resulting from current bill reduction legislation.
NOTL Hydro customers who want to make a brief presentation at the community meeting should contact the OEB at registrar@oeb.ca or call 1-877-632-2727 and quote file number EB 2018-0056.
