Niagara-On-The-Lake's Lord Mayor still has hope the former site of Parliament Oak will become a community hub.
This morning the Niagara District School Board announced the sale of the property to developers Liberty Sites for $4.925.
Despite calling the sale an 'unfavourable outcome' for council Lord Mayor Patrick Darte says he hopes council can work with the developer moving forward.
"I have talked to them previously about other things, mainly in the Glen Dale area. So their intention at one time was to keep it as a community hub."
Just last month, a human chain of concerned residents formed around the former school, participants chanting 'we want a hub.'
