Niagara-On-The-Lake's mandatory face covering by-law comes into effect today.
The by-law echoes one that recently came into force in St. Catharines, requiring everyone in an enclosed public space to put on a mask or face covering of some kind.
Exemptions are in place for children 10 years of age or younger and people with medical conditions barring them from wearing a mask.
Operators of public spaces, including store owners, are required to post signs at every public entrance clearly displaying the requirement.
