The completion of Niagara-On-The-Lake's new Wastewater Treatment Plant has been pushed back.
Right now, council speculates it could be operational by Christmas - roughly a year behind schedule - but they were not willing to commit to a firm date during the Regional Public Works Committee Meeting.
Councillor Dave Augustyn characterized a report put to council as 'troubling.' During the meeting he said the report failed to mention when the deficiencies would be addressed.
Some of those problems include peeling concrete walls and leaks in the basement and process cells.
The additional cost for the remaining work comes in around $678,00 more than the original $36 million earmarked in 2014.
