OPP in Niagara are asking drivers to make sure their vehicles are in good working condition this holiday weekend following a serious crash on the 406 in St.Catharines.
A motorcycle crashed on the highway at 12:20 a.m. near Glendale Ave. sending the male driver to hospital in serious condition.
He is expected to survive.
The female passenger suffered minor injuries.
OPP Constable Rob Knight tells CKTB the crash was caused by 'an equipment issue' and he says this serves as an important reminder to check your tire treads and windshield wipers.
The 406 was shut down for an investigation for two hours, and reopened at 4:30 a.m.
