Five Niagara paramedics are being recognized for outstanding work.
Mary Homorodean, Jeff Marshall, Jon Brunarski, Lindsay Prioriello, and Daniel Kress are being given the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal - an award for paramedics who have served for at least 20 years following the highest standards of good conduct.
At least 10 of those years were spent responding to calls at a street level, where paramedics put themselves at risk to help others.
Niagara EMS Chief Kevin Smith says, "I am incredibly proud of the amazing and dedicated staff that received the prestigious Emergency Services Exemplary Service Medal. It was my honour to witness Niagara EMS Paramedics walk across the stage and be commended on 20 years of meritorious service in the profession and their contributions to their communities."
