Niagara Parks has a new CEO.
David Adames, currently the acting CEO of The Niagara Parks Commission, was today appointed as the 12th CEO to serve the Commission.
Adames will be reporting to Niagara Parks Chair, Sandie Bellows.
Adames first joined the Parks in 2013 as Senior Director of Business Development, before transitioning into the roles of Chief Operating Officer in 2016 and Acting CEO in October 2018.
He has also worked with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.
He currently serves on several tourism boards, including Niagara Falls Tourism, the Tourism Partnership of Niagara and he currently serves as the Chair of the Winter Festival of Lights Board.
According to a release from Niagara Parks "David also has played an instrumental role with and has excellent working relationships with Niagara Parks’ third-party operators, Hornblower Niagara Cruises and WildPlay Niagara Falls. Under David’s guidance, he led Niagara Parks’ pursuit and inclusion in the Culinary Tourism Alliance, working with Niagara Parks’ talented culinary team to spearhead the promotion of local food and fare at all Niagara Parks full-service restaurants. David’s work has also included leading the development of a new brand strategy and sales and marketing plan for Niagara Parks. David is a proud alumnus of both McMaster University and Queen’s University. "
David succeeds Reegan McCullough, who announced his resignation in October 2018, after having accepted the position of CAO of Sturgeon County, in his home province of Alberta.
