Niagara municipalities are getting ready for a different kind of Canada Day celebration this year.
Many areas will be hosting virtual events tomorrow as citizens continue to practice physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
All 12 municipalities, the region, and the Niagara Parks Commission will be coming together for a joint celebration from 11 a.m. until noon tomorrow.
Tim Hicks, Avenue Inn, The Great Lake Swimmers, Spencer Burton, Juliet Dunn and Peter Shea, and Rick McLean will be performing.
The livestream will be hosted on each municipality's official Facebook page and website.
Meanwhile some areas are also hosting their own events:
St. Catharines will have children's games, trivia, and a TikTok Dance party throughout the day.
Niagara Falls will host musical guests Deadmau5, Honeymoon Suite, and LMT Connection as well as a virtual fireworks display.
Both cities will be livestreaming the events on their social media pages.
The official government of Canada livestream will be taking place at 1 p.m. featuring Paul Brant, the Atlantic Ballet of Canada, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Social media users can watch the events on the Canadian Heritage Facebook and Youtube pages.
