The Region's annual curbside battery collection takes place this week. (Apr 24-28)
Batteries will be picked up on regularly scheduled garbage and recycling days.
Accepted will be standard A, AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries, lithium batteries and button cell batteries from watches, toys, electronics, greeting cards and calculators, etc.
Residents can place the batteries in a sealed, clear plastic bag beside their blue or grey boxes.
When disposing of lithium and button cell batteries residents are asked to tape both ends of the battery before putting them in the bag.
Car batteries, rechargeable batteries, battery packs and industrial batteries will not be accepted.
