There are some positive signs in the fight against COVID-19.
In total, Niagara Region Public Health reported 12 new cases of the virus over the weekend; 8 on Saturday and 4 yesterday.
The latest figures bring our local total to 558 cases, with 391 considered resolved.
However the St. Catharines Hospital is dealing with an outbreak on Unit K2B while the GNGH also has outbreaks in the Trillium, Rainbow, and D Units.
Yesterday Ontario Health officials reported the lowest daily growth rate since March with only 294 new cases.
The province now has 20,238 COVID-19 cases and 1,643 deaths attributed to the virus.
