There is a sharp increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases in Niagara.
Niagara Region Public Health is reporting 40 new cases today after reporting no new cases yesterday.
Today's additions brings the regional total to 706 confirmed cases of the virus and represents the biggest one day spike so far.
Officials say 86 of those cases are considered active and 560 cases are resolved.
So far there have been 60 deaths attributed to the virus in Niagara.
