Niagara Regional Councillors will be gathering for a special meeting this week.
Three confidential matters are set to be addressed in camera, the most pressing being a response to an interim order made Friday by Justice James Ramsay regarding the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority board structure.
Last Friday, Justice Ramsay ruled the 12 new Niagara board members appointed by Regional Council on December 6th are legitimate and the old board members are not.
His ruling comes in response to a legal challenge filed by the citizens group A Better Niagara, who called on the court to resolve the ongoing dispute over the NPCA's leadership.
The region was represented at the hearing by legal counsel Mickey Cruickshank, but he is looking for a formal direction from council when the hearing resumes on January 2nd.
Council is also set to receive legal advice on employment matters related to the Chief Adminstration Officer as well as the recent organizational update that saw 4 managers relieved of their duties last week.
The meeting is set for 2pm on Friday.
