The Niagara Region is assessing the replacement of the St. Paul Street West CN Rail Bridge in St. Catharines.
Originally built in 1922, the bridge has gone under extensive inspection, which resulted in the decision for a replacement.
The road closure for vehicles will start on Monday.
Pedestrians and cyclists can cross the bridge until the removal process starts in March of 2024.
It's expected to be closed until the end of 2026.
