Niagara regional councilĀ has decided to conduct a second investigation into the hiring of its CAO.
A special meeting last night to deal with the Ombudsman investigation into the seizure of a St. Catharines Standard reporter's laptop was dominated by the hiring issue.
The controversy reared its head again after the Standard posted documents thatĀ show the region's CAO Carmen D'Angelo received advance notice of questions and answers he would be asked when he interviewed for the job.
After meeting behind closed doors for more than two hours, council voted to re-open the investigation into the hiring process
The move comes after council paid Toronto lawyer, Marvin Huberman to conduct a probe into the hiring of D'Angelo.
Huberman concluded there was nothing improper.
