A Niagara Regional Police officer helped rescue a girl from Lake Ontario.
On Monday the 12 year old girl was at Lakeside Park with a group of friend and family members using inflatables when she began to struggle about 300 m away from the shore in choppy waters.
The NRPS Marine Unit and the Canadian Coast Guard were called.
Constable Hayley Walker arrived on scene along with other members of the Niagara Regional Police. Walker entered the water and managed to reach the girl using a floatation device.
The girl was brought back to shore and taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
