So far this year, Public Health is reporting 15 cases of rabies.
According to statistics found on Public Health's website, raccoons are responsible for 8 cases, skunks tested positive 4 times, and 3 batsĀ carried the virus.
The local areas with the highest number of cases this year are West Lincoln and Lincoln with 4 apiece.
Rabies is a deadly virus that can spread through the saliva of infected animals, usually through a bite.
Symptoms can include aggression, depression, and paralysis in the face or hind legs.
