"You're in good hands."
That's the word from Niagara EMS as the region continues to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acting Superintendent Bryce Brunarski tells CKTB's Matt Holmes paramedics who transported Niagara's first and only COVID-19 patient to St. Catharines hospital are in good spirits as they self-isolate at home while testing takes places.
Brunarski says all paramedics on the front-line are equipped with protective equipment if the call indicates COVID-19 may be a concern.
He says the triage process starts with the 911 dispatchers, who are looking for potential warning signs in each call.
Brunarski says local residents should feel confident with the service paramedics are providing saying 'while it's a big job, and a big lift, the people of Niagara are in good hands.'
