Niagara's former GM has landed a job in Sarnia.
The border city an hour from London announced the appointment of Christopher Carter to the CAO's position this afternoon.
He will start work in Sarnia April 1st.
Carter was fired in December from the Niagara Region and has since launched a wrongful dismissal lawsuit against the region to the tune of $850,000.
His lawsuit also asked to cover to costs of his job search and relocation.
The matter is before the courts.
In the news release from Sarnia, it states that Carter has over 20 years of experience in municipal administration and he will be responsible for 424 full-time employees (not including Sarnia Police), a $145 million operating budget, and $29.8 million capital budget.
Carter only worked for Niagara Region for a year and a half and was a key player in the seizure of a St.Catharines Standard reporter's laptop.
The Ontario Ombudsman ruled the seizure of the laptop was unconstitutional.
