The national jobless rate has inched up and so has Niagara's.
Statistics Canada reporting the economy lost 51,600 jobs in August sending the unemployment rate up to 6 percent, from 5.8 percent the month before.
Ontario experienced the biggest decrease of the provinces by far with a loss of 80,100 jobs, almost all were part-time positions.
It looks like Niagara, was hit by those losses, our rate is up to 7.4 percent from 7.0 percent.
The unemployment rate in Ontario increased to 5.7 percent last month from 5.4 percent in July.
Nationally, youth aged 15 to 24 had the highest jobless rate at 10.9 percent.
