This marks the third consecutive day for bus cancellations for Niagara's school boards and it's actually the first time it has ever happened.
Niagara Student Transportation (NSTS) explaining snowy and icy road conditions coupled with extreme cold temperatures and the risk of frost bite as factors in today's decision.
Officials at NSTS say they average less than two transportation cancellations per school year.
The last time Niagara experienced cancellation of buses for two days in a row was January 7 & 8, 2014.
The second day was only along the municipalities along the Lake Erie shoreline and it was the only time in the past ten years it happened.
Crossing guards in Niagara Falls have also been cancelled for today due to the extreme cold.
