The national unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent last month compared to 8.2 percent in May.
However, Niagara's unemployment rate worsened to 11.5 percent compared to 10.8 the month before.
The Canadian economy added 230,700 jobs last month, but the number of full time jobs fell by 33,200.
The gains come from part time positions, where 263,900 jobs were added as COVID-19 restrictions across the country started to ease, but business owners are still facing an uncertain future.
Unsurprisingly, the retail and food services sectors drove most of the growth, with a concentration on young people.
