A fundraising campaign is underway in the hopes of raising enough money to continue with a community dinnerĀ that has become a Christmas tradition in St. Catharines.
For more than a decade, Gord's Place hosted a free community dinner on Christmas Day, giving hundreds of people a place to gather, enjoy a warm meal, and celebrate the holiday.
However, over the summer the restaurant closed and now a local group is hoping to save the community dinner.
Niagara United Bridge of HopeĀ has launched a gofundme hoping to raise at least $5,000.
Organizer Wendi Duggan says they have secured a venue for the meal at St. Barnabas on Queenston Street.
Now she says they need to raise money to buy the food.
Duggan noting they are also in need of volunteers.
