Grimsby voters will be selecting a new mayor this month.
Current Mayor Bob Bentley, who has served four terms has decided not to run again.
Two candidates are running for the Mayor's position with both having past municipal government experience.
Steve Berry, a councillor for almost 20 years in the town is running alongside former councillor Jeff Jordan.
Berry, a firefighter in Hamilton tells CKTB Grimsby is headed in the right direction and he wants to see it continue.
His top three priories are rebuilding the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, addressing traffic concerns, and getting a handle on development.
Berry says when it comes to the growth, the pace is concerning.
He says it's happening at a faster pace than what he would have hoped for.

Jordan, who has served on town council for 10 years and is a local business owner says he does not like the direction town council is headed and that's why he is throwing his hat into the ring
His top three priorities are opening up town council to the people of Grimsby to avoid secrecy, avoid over-development, and address traffic issues.
He says Grimsby is growing too fast and he would like Grimsby to continue with it's official plan.

He thinks the woodlot is under the threat of development and he would fight to protect it.
He is also against the mega high school planned to be built in Grimsby, saying he would like to see Grimsby Secondary School remain open.
Grimsby voters can cast their ballots online, by phone and in person this year.
