Four men, including Niagara Drug Kingpin Nick Nero, face automatic life sentences without chance of parole for 25 years after being found guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of a rival drug trafficker.
The four were found guilty yesterday in the death of John Raposo, who was gunned down on a Toronto patio in June 2012, as soccer fans gathered to watch a Euro Cup game.
The men were also convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and will be sentenced on that count at a later date.
Court heard the three were accused of hiring a hitman to kill Raposo for being “the biggest rat in the world" and they planned to keep Raposo’s 200 kilo shipment of cocaine for themselves.
Nero is already serving a lengthy jail sentence in connection with his role in an international cocaine ring.
