No injuries following inmate disturbance at Niagara Detention Centre

Everyone is reported to be safe following an inmate disturbance at the Niagara Detention Centre.

The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services has confirmed in a statement to CKTB that two inmates refused to lock up this morning following time out of their cell.

The Institution Crisis Intervention Team was brought in when negotiations with the inmates failed.

No injuries have been reported and the incident occurred within the secure part of the detention centre.
