A 20 year old education activist and Nobel laureate is going to Oxford University.
Malala Yousafzai became a household name in 2012 after being shot by a Taliban gunman in Pakistan for speaking out for the right of girls to go to school. She was treated at a Birmingham hospital and went on to continue her education in the city, eventually winning the Nobel Peace prize.
She tweeted her acceptance to the school, saying she is 'so excited' to win a spot to study philosophy, politics, and economics at Lady Margaret Hall.
