Several notable Canadians have paid tribute to American actress Carrie Fisher, who died yesterday at the age of 60.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau -- a big fan of ``Star Wars'' -- published a tweet that read: ``We'll never forget you, Carrie. May the Force be with you always.''
Dan Aykroyd -- who was briefly engaged to Fisher in 1980 -- called her his ``beautiful, brilliant, funny, wise, kind and generous Blues Sister'' on Twitter.
Fellow Canadian actor William Shatner also took to Twitter to express his deep sadness and to say he will miss his ``banterings'' with Fisher.
David Mirvish -- who operates four theatre houses in Toronto -- says he remembers Fisher as someone who ``gave hope to others who lived in challenging circumstances,'' adding she was ``kind, thoughtful and brave.''
In 2011, Fisher performed her acclaimed show ``Wishful Drinking'' at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre.
To honour the actor, the Mirvish theatres will dim their marquee lights tonight at 8 p-m.
Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in ``Star Wars,'' died four days after falling ill aboard a flight to Los Angeles from London.
Reports say she suffered a heart attack.
