The town of Niagara-on-the-Lake continues to try to contain cannabis operations in the old town.
Council has approved an extension of an interim bylaw for another year banning new cannabis operations and the expansion of existing ones.
Tweed Farms runs a 1 million sq. ft. grow operation in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The original operation started out as a 350,000 sq. ft. greenhouse in St.David's but quickly expanded.
Lord Mayor Betty Disero says she continues to work with Tweed staff to address residents' concerns including smell.
She says most residents are happy that council continues to work to ensure the town isn't overrun by grow ops.
Staff are now preparing a new bylaw to curb cannabis operations from setting up shop in the town until August 2020.
