Hot tub owners in Niagara on the Lake will get a break from a new town bylaw.
Last month, council updated the bylaw for backyard pools and included a measure that would force homeowners to get a permit for any new hot tubs.
Existing hot tubs that do not have a locking mechanism on the cover will require the same safety features as pools.
This week, council backpeddaled on a plan to hire more bylaw officers to enforce the new rules.
Council noting homeowners expressed concerns they were not being given enough time to make the necessary changes to comply with the new rules.
