A special meeting of the new Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority board of directors is underway.
The meeting started off with a bang when Hamilton member Brad Clark called for the board to censure fellow board James Kaspersetz over a racist social media post he made last week.
"I believe, as do many of my colleagues in Hamilton that we need to make it clear that such behaviour is unacceptable" said Clark.
The new board approved the motion.
They also selected a new chair and vice chair.
West Lincoln Mayor David Bylsma is the new Chair of the board and Pelham's Diana Huson was elected Vice-Chair.
The same vote will have to be conducted again according to Acting CAO Dave Barrick who told members part of the Annual General Meeting, set for later this month, is the election of two positions.
