Today marks the first meeting for the board of directors at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority since the public release of a scathing report by Ontario's Auditor General.
Bonnie Lysyk's report released back in September found weak governance and operational practices at the NPCA.
It also found significant issues regarding areas of human resources, procurement policies and leadership problems.
The report called on the agency to overhaul how it does business in order to regain public trust.
The board didn't publicly receive Lysyk's report as it cancelled its October 17th meeting, just prior to the municipal election.
The report, which made 24 recommendations, also found costs associated with NPCA board member activity skyrocketed 422 per cent from 2010 to 2017, and its legal bills climbed 633 per cent from 2012 to 2017.
Today's meeting gets underway at 9:30 a.m.
