The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority has passed its 2018 operating budget but the union representing its workers say it will mean job cuts.
The board saying yes to a $9.6 million spending plan, but OPSEU is warning the budget will mean a million dollars in cuts to staff in two departments.
NPCA CAO Mark Brickell telling Post Media he will not comment on the issue, until the two sides meet.
The board also refusing to allow union official Terri Aversa to address the board about a 35 point plan to improve working conditions at the NPCA.
Welland's mayor and board member Frank Campion introduced a motion to allow Aversa to speak but board members rejected the move.
