It's still not clear why Mark Brickell was fired as CAO of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority and even he doesn't know why.
That's according to a report in the Standard.
Brickell's lawyer tells the newspaper his client wasn't given information about why he was being terminated.
Stephen Moreau, a lawyer with the Toronto firm Cavalluzoo LLP, says the termination was in writing but no reasons were given.
On Thursday, the NPCA issued a release stating the Lisa McManus, who previously served as the organization's clerk, has taken over as interim CAO and secretary-treasurer.
The release made no mention of what happened to Brickell who has held the position since April 2017.
