The NPCA is looking for a person who is passionate about drinking water.
Applications are being accepted to fill vacancies for a public interest representative and a Commerce representative on the Niagara Peninsula Source Protection Committee.
The 9-member committee oversees the development and implementation of a source protection plan to protect the sources of drinking water in Niagara Peninsula watersheds.
The work is being done under the Ontario Clean Water Act, 2006.
The Act ensures communities protect their municipal drinking water supplies through developing collaborative, locally driven, science-based protection plans.
Communities identify potential risks to local water sources and take action to reduce or eliminate these risks.
The application form and more information on the eligibility and duties of committee members can be found at http://www.sourceprotection-niagara.ca/ or is available at the head office of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority at 250 Thorold Road West, 3rd Floor, Welland.
The term of office will last approximately three years, with a possibility of renewal.
