An Ontario Superior Court Judge didn't take long to make another ruling regarding the governance of the  Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.

Justice James Ramsay took only a few minutes to order the NPCA to hold a meeting of its new board of directors on January 7th  at 2:30 p.m. at their Balls Falls facility.

He ignored an affidavit put together by Director of Communications Krystle Kaputo.

The NPCA still did not have legal representation in court today.

Judge Ramsay says he expects that once the new board meets the issue of how many board members Niagara, Haldimand and Hamilton should have will be resolved.

In December a citizens group - A Better Niagara - asked the court to resolve outstanding governance issues. Justice Ramsay ruled the  new 12 members appointed by Regional Council on December 6th were active board members retroactive to that date.

According to some of the new board members from Niagara,  attempts at getting a meeting convened were ignored by the agency's staff.

A Better Niagara Director  Liz Bennian will join CKTB's Matt Holmes this afternoon at 1:35 to explain today's order by the judge.
