The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority warning of high water levels in areas around Hamilton and Haldimand County.
The NPCA says east portions of those areas have already received 35 to 60 mm of rain over the last 24 hours.
The rain has resulted in higher than normal water levels and flows.
Water levels however remain below the critical threshold.
Residents living along the upper portions of the Welland River, 20 Mile Creek, and 4 Mile Creek, especially in the Wellandport, Smithville, and Virgil areas, are
encouraged to closely monitor river conditions and watch for flooding in low lying areas.
