Niagara police stopped about 600 drivers during RIDE checkpoints in St Catharines and Niagara Falls on Saturday.
Two motorists were charged with impaired driving.
Meantime, another driver was arrested after they were involved in a collision in Niagara Falls and one was arrested while attempting to cross the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.
During the RIDE program one driver suddenly stopped and reversed their vehicle to avoid the checkpoint.
They backed into another vehicle causing some minor damage.
Police say the driver was sober, but didn't have an experienced driver in the vehicle which is a requirement of the G-1 licence.
The driver was given a ticket.
