Niagara Regional Police are looking for a suspect after an elderly woman was robbed during a break and enter at her home.
Last Thursday night around 8:30 p.m. an unknown woman entered the victim's home in the area of Facer Street and Brighton Avenue in St. Catharines, through an unlocked front door and confronted the elderly home owner.
The suspect proceeded to the victim's bedroom where she located a purse and wallet.
The victim tried to stop the suspect from taking her belongings and a struggled ensued which saw the suspect grab the victim's Elderly Alert Device that was around her neck to prevent her from calling for help.
The suspect took a sum of cash from the wallet and pushed the victim down before fleeing the scene in a white vehicle.
The suspect is described as a white female aged 55-60 years of age.
She is approximately 5'6" tall with a medium build and long shoulder length hair and was wearing a light coloured sun dress.
