St. Catharines police have shut down another illegal marijuana dispensary.
After receiving a number of complaints from the public, police raided the Niagara Cannabis Club on Hartzel Road as well as another location on Pelham Road.
52 year old Timothy Robitaille and 50 year old Kelly Kirby, who police say operated the Club, are charged with unlawful production of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Police say this is the fourth time in less then a month officers have conducted search warrants on places such as the Niagara Cannabis Club for trafficking in marihuana.
They add although the operators of these places claim they are providing a service for those who legitimately need marijuana for medical reasons, they are nothing more then drug traffickers.
Police again would like to remind members of the public that locations claiming to be authorized to sell marijuana, are fraudulent.
Members of the public can only receive marijuana from a Health Canada approved marijuana producer or a authorized production licence.
