Residents of Niagara-On-The-Lake could see their monthly hydro bills go up by around $1.29 if an application from Niagara-On-The-Lake-Hydro is approved.
The utility has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for a change to electricity distribution rates and for approval of a new charge to prepare for potential large business customers who have their own generation facilities.
As part of the process, the OEB will be holding a community meeting tonight to hear from customers.
It's happening in the Simpson Room of the Niagara-On-The-Lake Community Centre beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
OEB representatives say the requested changes relate to the distribution side of the business and does not reflect any credits or other changes resulting from current bill reduction legislation.
